Abstract:
ZrO28%Y2O3 and ZrO2-25%CeO22.5%Y2O3 are widely used thermal barrier coating (TBC) materials. They are usually coated onto high temperature components of gas turbines by APS.The pore size and porosity rate in the TBC top coat influence the thermal cycling lifetime. The porosity morphology of the top coat was varied by controlling the different spraying parameters. Three types of thermal cyling tests were designed to determine the TBCs lifetime. Effect of different porosity rate on the thermal cyling life was observed.
