CIG (Cu-Ga-In) based coatings deposited by cold and warm spray processes were studied for the photovoltaic application. A few compositions of CuGa, CuIn, and CIG were sprayed by the cold spray process and tried to find the optimum process parameters of cold spray process. Some compositions of CuGa and CIG were also sprayed by the warm spray process and assessed the microstructural and compositional variations with the cold spray process. Some of the results for the post-treatment such as heat treatment in various atmosphere and SPS (Spark Plasma Sintering) will be presented. Photovoltaic cell test will be also presented and discuss the potential possibilities and limitations of spray processes for the target of photovoltaic application.
