Abstract: |
In this study TiO2 WC-CoCr composite coatings were investigated. They were obtained by high velocity oxygen fuel spraying technology using precursor salt solutions. The morphology, composition and microstructure of these coatings were investigated by using SEM, TEM and EDS. To achieve high wear resistance and low friction coefficient at the same time we injected simultaneous powders (e.g. WC-CoCr) and liquid precursor materials (Ti salt solutions). Tribological properties, abrasive wear resistance of the composite coatings were studied compared to pure TiO2 coating. Friction tests of developed coating paired with WC-Co showed decreasing of friction coefficient up to 2 times compared with standard WC-Co WC-Co pair. Due to the formation of TiO2 on surface of tungsten carbide particles, developed composite coatings have high tribological properties (low coefficient of friction, low lapping time and etA.) and wear resistance. They can be apply as protective coatings for Electric Submersible Pumps like sliding bearings, valves (shutoff gate valve, globe valve and other), etc., which work in hard load and friction conditions like dry-film lubricant.
