 Abstract:
Continuous casting molds require good heat dissipation performance and high strength. The thermal conductivity of pure copper is high enough, but its strength is lower than the requested. In the case, copper alloy is more used to produce casting molds than copper, such as Cu-Cr-Zr alloy. However, in practical we found the thermal conductivity of Cu-Cr-Zr alloy coating produced by cold spray was just 30% of the conductivity in theory. It did not meet the request of the mold. In order to resolve the problem, we tested the properties of Cu-Cr-Zr alloy coating and analyzed its micro-structure. The result indicated that the metal elements and micro-structure had an obvious effect on the copper alloy coating. After fitting, the thermal conductivity of the coating has doubled.
