Abstract: |
Zinc and aluminium based thermally sprayed coatings are used to protect steel structures like towers and frames for wind power plants, bridges etc. with a long life cycle and which operate in critical corrosive environments e. g. like coastal and offshore areas. The targets of such thermally sprayed coatings are to improve the durability performance and the sustainable use of natural resources of the structures. On large steel structures, are these materials typically applied (preferably as a wire shaped spray additives) by thermal spray technologies such as arc and flame spraying. The aim of this study was to investigate the behavior of the coatings with respect to corrosion resistance and the weak points
