Abstract: |
TiB2-40Ni and TiB2-50Ni powders fabricated by mechanical alloying were sprayed by high velocity oxygen fuel(HVOF) method to fabricate TiB2-Ni coating. The microstructure and phase structure were analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The microhardness was measured by indentation method; the properties of abrasive wear, thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance to molten Al-12.07%Si alloy for coatings were investigated. The results show that two kinds of coatings are compact and the porosities are low, the phase constitution of the coatings is TiB2 and Ni, the hardness of the coatings are higher than the substrate. The coatings have excellent performance of thermal shock resistance, especially TiB2-50Ni coating. And the weight loss of abrasive wear of Q235 steel is 5 times larger as much as the loss of coatings. The coatings have excellent performance of wear resistance. Meanwhile, the coatings have good durability in the molten Al-12.07%Si after 60h immersion test, TiB2-50Ni coating has better performance of corrosion resistance.
