Abstract: |
Columnar structured 8YSZ thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) were deposited onto the surface with HVOF sprayed CoNiCrAlY bondcoat by suspension plasma spraying (SPS). Substrate-free TBCs were heat treated from 1200 to 1500 for 10h to 100h. Thermal stability behavior of TBCs such as phase content, grain growth rate, porosity decrease, microhardness increase for thermal aged coatings were investigated. Thermal shock resistance and thermal insulation performance of the coating were evaluated via furnace cycle test (FCT) and burner rig test (BRT). SPS columnar structured TBCs exhibits excellent thermal shock resistance and thermal stability.
