Abstract: |
There are many choices for joining materials for metal bonding. Ni-based brazing alloys have been an industry standard for decades for use in the manufacturing of heat exchangers for automotive applications such as exhaust gas re-circulators and heat recovery units. Ni-Fe brazing alloys have become prevalent in applications where Ni leaching is problematic such as potable water heat exchangers. The following paper describes the microstructure, single-lap joint strength results and cyclic fatigue properties of each of these brazing materials.
