Abstract: |
Hydrogen as an energy carrier will be an essential building block of future energy technology. It will make a significant contribution to decarbonization in energy storage as well as in energy conversion. Electro-chemical reactions in electro-chemicalcells are a core aspect for the utilization of hydrogen as an energy carrier. Building on core competencies in surface technology, Schaeffler Technologies GmbH & Co. KG develops novel coating systems for components of electro-chemical cells used in variousapplications such as fuel cells or water electrolysis. Building on many years of experience in coating technology, which includes both coating materials and coating processes, Schaeffler develops holistic solutions for hydrogen-based applications. The currentdevelopment activities focus on individual coating solutions from lab-sample-scale up to efficient large-scale production.
